We will play some street shows if the weather will be on our side and some coffeehouse places.
I’m playing with my friends Zac Catanzaro (dr) and Kent Chendler (bs) a mixture of half written/half improvised blues and rock tunes.
We keep in danceable, too :-)

here are some screenshots of the new AUDECY video “WAKE UP!” The final edit will have to wait until I’m back in Europe, but check the pictures. We are planning to have the video ready at the end of may:

In Albuquerque I was recording with SHAWN LOUDERMILK again. After we had so much fun last year we got the band back together (Kent Chandler – bass/production, Dave Edwards – drums, Shawn Loudermilk – vocals/guitar, Micha Schellhaas – guitar/bass/production). The songs will be ready in april, so stay tuned for some really nice americana songs from way out west !!!

And then I was shooting a couple of short clips with Ashley “SAY WUT?!” Moyer, a fantastic beatbox artist from Albuquerque. Check her out!
More clips will follow. Ashley just decided this week to move to NYC and to make a living as professional beatboxer over there.

After my 10 days in the studio in Dallas I was headin’ out to Austin. I was working with Lian Amber again and we did some really nice mixdowns of 2 of her tunes. We were also working on new material. It’s all a work in progress for the album, but those 2 tunes will be released soon!
And then the SXSW (South by Southwest) music festival came to town. Really amazing bands all over the city for a week. I think about 1000 official and even more unofficial shows. I was following around my friends from THREE LEAF and going my own way seeing shows and taking pictures. Also I played an all improv street show with my friends Zac and Kent downtown. Watch the video here:

He is working on his second “Great Recession Orchestra” record, a western swing project! The first record gets played in western swing and americana radio all over the world, and I am really looking forward for the release of the second record. There are awesome players on it, lots of guitars, fiddles, dobros,… oh yeah! Jazz with a cowboy hat!

But that’s not the only thing I did so far. Sarah Castro, the singer from AUDECY (a project we started together last year while I was in Austin) came over to Planet Sattherwhite Studio and we recut the vocals for one of our tracks. In about 3 weeks I will go back to the states again! Recording, writing, playing, hanging out and travelling.
On my first trip to the states where I drove one big circle from NY to New Orleans, Texas, Cali and back I was writing a blog and a lot of friends followed my stories…
So this time I thought to revive the blog and post some pics and stories from my upcoming 2 months trip in the US! I will start out in Dallas, be in Texas, New Mexico, L.A. and gonna end up in San Francisco (at least that’s the plan;)
